07 November – “Science Slam” with Two MATH+ Participants @BerlinScienceWeek
As in previous years, the Berlin “Clusters of Excellence” are once again teaming up to organize a “SCIENCE SLAM” for Berlin Science Week 2024 on 7 November 2024. The Science Slam has always attracted a lot of interest in the research from the participating “Clusters of Excellence.” Don’t miss the chance to see Berlin’s youngest and brightest scientists on stage, and in the meantime, check out the recording of the 2023 Science Slam.
Slammin’ like there’s no tomorrow – our young scientists from the Berlin clusters will do everything they can to entertain the audience, whether they’re talking about applied-oriented mathematics (MATH+), intelligent research (Science of Intelligence), catalysis/green chemistry (UniSysCat), liberal order (SCRIPTS), material research (Matters of Activity), neuroscience (NeuroCure), or world literature (Temporal Communities). The broad spectrum offered something for everyone and sparked curiosity for more information about the individual clusters.
The sky is the limit when it comes to what’s possible. Costumes, props, movies, PowerPoint presentations, or other experimental setups – it is all allowed. The only constraint is time – each slammer has a maximum of ten minutes. And the audience gets to decide who gave the best presentation!
MATH+ will be represented by BMS Phase II student HSUEH Chun-Sheng and Postdoc Gregor Pasemann, both from HU Berlin. They explain their research in entertaining 10-minute talks in English for the general public and will compete against PhD students and postdocs from the six other Berlin Clusters of Excellence, each covering different topics.
