Transforming the World

Activity Groups

MATH+ Activity Groups focus on specific research areas at the interface of mathematics with other disciplines or application fields that are of strategic importance for the MATH+ agenda. Activity Groups are meant as platforms for members of MATH+ and interested collaborators in the specific topic area and provide overarching structure for all related MATH+ activities. They organize specific scientific events, strengthen the communication in their respective area, support and sharpen the profile of research and training, and coordinate the connections of MATH+ to other Berlin research structures in the respective field of activity.

Presently two activity groups are active:

  • Mathematics of Data Science
    Spokesperson: Gitta Kutyniok
  • Mathematics in the Humanities and Social Sciences
    Spokesperson: Rupert Klein
