MATH+ Staff Member (m/f/d)  | @ Technische Universität Berlin (TU)

Employee (m/f/d) – 50 % working hours – pay group 4 TV-L Berlin universities: Support for public relations and science communication at the Cluster of Excellence MATH+ (The official job announcement of TU Berlin is in German, see link below).

 

Working fields:

  • Support with the organization and implementation of MATH+ outreach events
  • Support in editing image, audio, and video files, in maintaining the social media channels and MATH+ website, and in creating information materials
  • Support in compiling math puzzles for student competitions

 

Requirements:

  • Experience in image, audio and video editing, in working with social media, in using Adobe Creative Cloud programs like Photoshop, InDesign is desired
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Very good knowledge of school mathematics (elementary, intermediate, secondary I+II)
  • Knowledge of LaTeX is desirable
  • Experience in working with content management systems (WordPress) desired, and experience in event organization is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
  • Open and friendly nature, good communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team, reliability, flexibility, and the ability to work independently

  • Completed university degree in mathematics
  • Very good knowledge in the field of optimization, preferably also in non-smooth optimization
  • Good programming skills in C/C++, Matlab, or Python
