The MATH+ Central Office is looking for a motivated team member to cover the parental leave of our BMS FU Liaison Officer. Central tasks include the advising of BMS students with regard to the utilization of academic resources, and navigation of university and departmental policies.
As part of the German-wide event series “The 7 Greatest Mathematical Adventures”, MATH+ presented a diverse program of talks and activities around the famous Millennium Prize Problem “P versus NP” on 01 July 2022. Afterwards, all BMS graduate students and MATH+ Dissertation Award recipients of
End of May and in June, two successful BMS Summer Schools were organized by MATH+ members in the framework of the Thematic Einstein Semester and by the BMS office. Participants from all over the world enjoyed high-level math talks and well-organized events.
On 05 July 2022, the Ukrainian mathematician Maryna Viazovska of EPFL Lausanne was awarded a Fields Medal. From 2014 until 2016, she has been a BMS Dirichlet Postdoctoral Fellow at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin as a member of Jürg Kramer's research group "Arithmetic Geometry".

The German Research Foundation (DFG) established Collaborative Research Centres (CRC/SFB) to promote world-class research at universities. The Grants Committee recently agreed to an additional funding period for 19 CRCs, including six CRC/Transregios. Two of them are led by MATH+ members as spokesperson and co-spokesperson.
MATH+ has recently launched the MATH+ Distinguished Fellowship Program to recognize outstanding contributions to the mathematical sciences and to support the work of world-leading mathematicians in Berlin. Prof. Dr. Gavril Farkas, Professor of Algebraic Geometry at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, will be the first MATH+ Distinguished
Marc Alexa, Professor of Computer Science at Technische Universität Berlin and MATH+ member, has been awarded an ERC Advanced Grant for his research project EMERGE (Geometry Processing as Inference).
