Stellenangebot für Beschäftigte (w/m/d) @ MATH+ Geschäftsstelle (Technische Universität Berlin), angesiedelt bei der MATH+ PR-Managerin. Die Stelle ist für Studierende geeignet.

  • 50% Teilzeitstelle (20 St./Woche, ggf. auch für 25% mit 10 St. /Woche möglich), besetzbar ab sofort / befristet bis 31.12.2032

Ihre Aufgaben

Unterstützung bei:

  • der Betreuung und Pflege der MATH+ Social-Media-Kanäle und Webseiten
  • der Bearbeitung von Bild- und Videodateien
  • bei der Organisation und Durchführung von MATH+ Outreach-Veranstaltungen, Science Pub Quiz (Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften) oder Science Slam (Berlin Science Week)
  • der Erstellung von einfachen Informationsmaterialien

Ihr Profil

  • Erfahrung mit Social Media Kanälen
  • Erfahrung in der Bild- und Videobearbeitung sowie Kenntnis von Grafik-Software zur Bildbearbeitung (z.B. Canva o.ä. Programmen) wünschenswert
  • Erfahrung im Umgang mit Webseiten (z.B. mit WordPress o. ä. Programmen) wünschenswert
  • Kenntnisse im Umgang mit Microsoft Office
  • Gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse erforderlich
  • Offenes und freundlichen Wesen, gute Kommunikationsfähigkeiten
  • Teamfähigkeit, Zuverlässigkeit, Flexibilität und selbstständige Arbeitsweise

The Office for Collaborative Projects coordinates large third-party funded projects within the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Freie Universität Berlin. These include, among others, the MATH+ Cluster of Excellence, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) as part of the Excellence Strategy, and its integrated graduate school, the Berlin Mathematical School (BMS) (www.math-berlin.de).

The MATH+ Office is located at Technische Universität Berlin. Your Responsibilities

  • Support the Office for Collaborative Projects, particularly the MATH+ Cluster Office, with a workplace located at the One-Stop Office at TU Berlin (4 days/week) and at FU Berlin (1 day/week)
  • Perform organizational, administrative, and secretarial tasks for the executive board and management of MATH+ and the BMS
  • Participate in application and admission procedures, including the evaluation of academic achievements and foreign degrees, and grade conversion
  • Organize and support academic events (colloquia, conferences, etc.), including budget planning and coordination for international guests
  • Provide advisory support for students in graduate programs concerning research and study organization
  • Handle matters of academic self-governance and coordinate activities among the participating universities
  • Manage general correspondence and advisory services in German, English, and preferably one additional foreign language
  • Prepare information materials and maintain or update websites using Joomla and WordPress

Required Qualifications

  • Completed vocational training in a field relevant to the position (e.g., administrative assistant) or equivalent professional knowledge and experience
  • 2 years of experience, ideally in a university environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Thorough and extensive professional and administrative knowledge
  • Familiarity with national and international higher education systems
  • Ability to work independently; proficiency with PC and standard office software
  • Excellent English skills, written and spoken; good knowledge of another foreign language
  • Medical fitness for computer-based work
  • Intercultural competence and an open-minded personality
  • Flexibility, organizational skills, initiative, social competence, gender and diversity awareness, and excellent teamwork skills in a dynamic academic environment

PhD Student Position (f/m/d) @Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics (WIAS) in Berlin

The Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics (WIAS) is an institute of the Forschungsverbund Berlin e.V. (FVB). The FVB comprises seven non-university research institutes in Berlin which are funded by the federal and state governments. The research institutes belong to the Leibniz Association.

WIAS invites applications for a PhD Student Position (f/m/d) —  (Ref. 25/11)

in the Leibniz Junior Research Group “Probabilistic Methods for Dynamic Communication Networks“

(Head: Prof. Dr. B. Jahnel), starting as soon as possible.

The position is part of the MATH+ project “Information Flow & Emergent Behaviour in Complex Networks.“

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in mathematics or a closely related field
  • Strong background in probability theory
  • Prior knowledge in spatial stochastic or discrete probabilistic structures is beneficial but not required.

The working hours are 29,25 hours per week. The position is remunerated according to TVoeD Bund and initially limited to three years.
