Michael Joswig named Max Planck Fellow at Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences (MiS) in Leipzig

As of December 1, 2019, Michael Joswig (TU Berlin) will join Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences (MiS) in Leipzig as Max Planck Fellow. The Max Planck Fellow Programme promotes cooperation between outstanding university professors and Max Planck Society researchers. So, while staying full professor at TU Berlin, Michael Joswig will lead a research group on Mathematical Software at MPI MiS.

Michael Joswig is interested in all aspects of polyhedral, tropical and algorithmic geometry, and this includes topics such as optimization and combinatorial topology. See here (https://page.math.tu-berlin.de/~joswig/) for an overview of ongoing and past projects. In addition, he enjoys designing and applying mathematical software, the main project being polymake (https://polymake.org/doku.php).
